Girls' Dormitory Escape - Chapter 56

    Chapter 56 Crazy Wednesday

The floor-to-ceiling windows were pushed open, and the biting chill in the fog hit their faces, forcing everyone to take a step back.

Each person held a protective talisman in her hand and gritted her teeth before getting out. Zhang You was in the front, Wanqing and Guo Guo were in the middle, and Tang Xinjue was in the back. The four of them clung to the balcony wall and moved forward as fast as possible.

Sensing someone, the fog suddenly rolled up and seeped into the balcony significantly faster.

Even though they were careful, their bodies were still inevitably touched by the white mist. With a soft sound, the protective talismans in the hands of the four of them spontaneously ignited without any wind at the same time!

The moment of contact was the moment of attack.

Zhang You quickened her pace and went to the window of her dormitory. She pulled it with one hand and found that it couldn't move. She immediately pushed it with both hands and her face turned pale: "I can't push it!"

Had the windows been blocked again?

Guo Guo rushed up and pushed with her, using all her strength, the window was barely pushed open a small crack. Not enough to put one leg in, so she shouted anxiously: "What should I do? This window seems to be retracting again!"

Zheng Wanqing's hands were inconvenient, so Tang Xinjue immediately changed her position and rushed forward. The rubber head of the leather handle went into the gap, almost blocking the glass window. Then she used the corner of the wall as a fulcrum and took advantage of the toughness of the toilet handle to push the window open little by little. Zhang You and Guo Guo worked hard from the side and finally opened a gap that could accommodate one person.

Tang Xinjue changed hands to fix the window in place: "You go first."

The three of them quickly got in. Tang Xinjue had just put away the toilet when a shout suddenly came from the direction of the dorm next door. It was Xu Wei's voice: "Wait a minute, catch this!"

The short-haired girl with gauze wrapped around her hands risked her head and threw a package into her arms: "Thank you for giving me the medicine..."

After catching the thing, Tang Xinjue no longer hesitated and bent down to get into the dorm. Just before the fog completely came over and the window was closed, Xu Wei's shouting from the dorm next door could be heard:

    "Keep living! Live well!"

White mist enveloped the window, the outline of the balcony disappeared, and the world became chaotic and silent again.

Several people tentatively called to the next door dormitory, but received no response. The short-term connection with the outside world seemed to be cut off again, and the dormitory returned to its previous state of isolation.

"Ding dong dong, dong dong dong-"

"Happy Wednesday, class time is here, exam papers have been distributed, is everyone ready~"

"Dear classmates, did you study hard today?"

A familiar ringtone came from the window. Tang Xinjue turned on her phone. The time was exactly eight o'clock in the morning.

Exactly two hours have passed since the Crazy Wednesday Sale started at 6am. It seems that this was also the time limit for the entire event. When eight o'clock arrives, the exam would still start normally.

Interaction with the dormitory next door was also limited to these short two hours. If they exclude the time they were busy with the promo, the actual communication with Liang Jing and the others was only half an hour.

Guo Guo slumped on the chair and sighed: "It's too short. Just give me half an hour more."

Zheng Wanqing waved her only hand and encouraged loudly: "At least this encounter proves that we are not the only ones who are struggling in the game, there are many, many compatriots! Although we can't meet each other, I believe this is only temporary. As long as we live long enough, anything is possible!”

Zhang You nodded, "Wanqing is right. I think since there will be this event, it means that the game will not isolate us here forever, and maybe there will be more opportunities in the future."

Quietly listening to the exchange between her roommates, Tang Xinjue lowered her eyes and looked at her palm. The protective talisman had burned to ashes.

After only being exposed to a little bit of white mist, four protective talismans were directly consumed. If they were directly exposed to the white mist, all the protective props on the four people combined might not even last five seconds.

The dormitory was not only a kind of confinement for them now, but also a kind of protection.

She gently poured the ashes into the trash can and said: "The premise of everything is that we must survive."

Just like Xiaohong said in the Ghost in the Mirror copy, they had to clear levels, became stronger, and grew faster than the speed of danger, so that they could survive to the end.

"But before that," Tang Xinjue raised a smile, "To celebrate today's rest, do we want to open a can?"

After approval from the Logistics Minister Zhang You, the group finally opened a can of salted fish from the dormitory supplies and divided the two cans of Wangzai milk into four as a rare celebration meal.

"And this." Tang Xinjue took out the bag Xu Wei threw over, which contained two packs of spicy chicken feet.

Guo Guo couldn't help but sip: "My saliva has started to secrete."

The food they originally stored had been eaten up long ago, and now the food they saved depends entirely on the accumulation of lottery draws in the mall. They couldn't bear to spend a lot of points to buy it, so they could only eat biscuits and drink mineral water, without any choice.

A pack of snacks was a rare delicacy for the four now.

After preparing the food, the quartet sat around and started making breakfast, while curiously turning on the new TV.

Snowflakes flashed twice on the black screen, and then a big smiley face popped up:

[Home appliances? Look for Wang Jiji, and you will be in a good mood every day!

The screen switched in the next second, and a pale face with no nose filled the entire screen. Two streaks of blood flowed from the corners of the eyes. The bulging eyeballs were fiercely pressed against the screen, as if glaring at people outside the screen.

"Cough cough cough!" Guo Guo swallowed what was in her mouth and coughed violently.

Thank you, my good mood is gone.

Several people almost jumped up out of conditioned reflex, and then saw the pale grimace on the screen move slightly, two purple-black lips touching up and down, mouthing human words:

    "Please listen to today's broadcast..."

    Everyone: "..."

They watched helplessly as the noseless ghostly face wiped away the blood and tears on his face, and began to broadcast the news in a serious manner:

"The day before yesterday, a teacher from Third-Rate University publicly stated that the compulsory course "Four Seasons Protection Guide" he taught had received malicious reports. This has seriously affected his application plan for promotion to the teacher of Second-Rate University. He has now filed a complaint with the education center. And he declared that he must find the lawless whistleblower and make them punished by law."

After reading this sentence, the Noseless Ghost paused, with a hint of confusion in his voice: "But as far as I know, our university town has never promulgated any laws. How can people be punished by law..."

There was a "ding" sound on the screen, which seemed to warn it. As expected, the noseless ghost shut up and read the next article honestly:

"The renovation of the Second-Rate university was completed the day before yesterday. Students are welcome to apply to visit."

"The decoration team of First-Rate University claims that Second-Rate University has plagiarized their design elements, including but not limited to Hell, Mengpo Bridge, Nightmare Abyss and other scenic spots, and has lodged a strong protest to the education center."

"Additional report: The decoration teams from both sides met in front of Third-Rate University an hour ago and started fighting."

"Additional report: Both parties have been detained."

"The broadcast will add: Third-Rate University has submitted an application for compensation, claiming that their school gate was damaged. The only heating worker was also affected when he passed by and is being rescued."

"Notice received, the heating worker is not able to be rescued, Third-Rate University's four seasons are out of balance again, and many courses are expected to be affected..."

Noseless Ghost's broadcast ended with the tragic loss of the Third-Rate University. Moving on to the next section:

    "Today's livelihood section: None."

    "Today's Student Education Section: None."

After reading it, the noseless ghost breathed a sigh of relief happily, and two lines of blood flowed down again:

"Everyone is welcome to contribute to this channel. Today's university town news broadcast ends here and the rebroadcast will begin soon."

The hoarse and unpleasant ending music played, and the screen jumped when the noseless ghost stretched out eight hands to collect the manuscript, and returned to the original state of grimacing at the screen.

After watching a news program unexpectedly, the dormitory fell into silence.

Zhang You opened her mouth, as if she had a thousand words to say, but she didn't know what to say specifically, so she could only turn her head and look at Tang Xinjue.

At some point, Tang Xinjue tore up a piece of paper and wrote quickly, writing down all the news, including the last channel hotline number.

Seeing her pick up the phone, everyone asked in horror: "Are you going to submit to this show?"

Tang Xinjue shook her head: "Try the rules."

After dialing the number, a hoarse voice sounded from the other side: "Hello, this is the university town news submission hotline. We only accept submissions related to education, people's livelihood, and students. We do not accept any complaints."

Tang Xinjue thought for a while: "Are there any requirements for submission?"

"Are you a student? You need to pay 50 points to submit an article, plus phone calls."

"Thank you, sorry to bother you." Hanging up the phone decisively, the four of them looked at each other.

It was obvious that in the past five minutes, they had been exposed to a new world beyond their current knowledge.

It's strange, but it seemed to be closely related to their experiences in the game.

Guo Guo whispered: "Report from the "Four Seasons Protection Guide"? This seems to be... we did it, right?"

It seemed like they had offended a teacher-level NPC invisibly?

Tang Xinjue nodded: "That's right. It also talks about the first, second and third-rate universities, which are the same rules as shown in the APP. It's just..."

Judging from the reaction of the noseless ghost, these universities are not "conceptual" existences, but real buildings?

——If according to their level, then what was hidden in the white mist outside the window at this moment was the true face of "Third-Rate University"?

Too many questions came up with the information, and several people watched the replay again.

They found that there was still replay after replay. This channel seemed to have only this one program, and it had a tendency to repeat the same day indefinitely.

So they tuned to the next channel.

    Black screen.

    Next channel.

    Still black screen.

Further down, the screen jumped back to the first news program, with the noseless ghost reporting indifferently while bleeding.

    "..."

Is this the "high-definition large-screen multi-channel" in the mall's slogan?

"There are only three channels in total, and two of them are unavailable."

    Zheng Wanqing was furious: "Profiteer!"

Fortunately, they earned this from the promotion and did not buy it with money, otherwise they would be heartbroken.

After they finished their breakfast, they tuned to the second channel and found that the screen had changed.

A green screen stage appeared on the TV. On the stage stood two creatures with human bodies and fish heads. They were a man and a woman. They were holding a microphone in their hands and their gills were moving:

"Happy holidays, dear viewers, and welcome to the University Town Festival Limited Gala Stage!"

"The annual Freshman Orientation Festival has begun. I believe that the Freshman Orientation Festival three days ago left everyone still unsatisfied. But it doesn't matter, starting from today, the party stage will continue to give you wonderful performances every Wednesday!"

Following the announcement from the two fishmen, the green screen turned into grass, and a little girl in a red dress ran onto the stage, clasping her hands together nervously: "Hello everyone, my name is Little Red Riding Hood. Next, I will perform a dance for everyone.”

Then she raised one leg and started to spin in place. After a few rounds, she spun faster and faster. She accidentally stopped it and threw her whole head off in excitement.

They saw her head flying higher and higher in the air, getting closer and closer to the screen——

    "Thump!"

Little Red Riding Hood's head passed through the screen and fell into the dormitory.

The four people who were watching TV: "..."

The little girl's head turned twice in a daze. After she realized that she had fallen into the audience's room, she opened her mouth at a loss and subconsciously said: "Happy holidays!"
